Fast cars and foreigners

Sometimes, you have to read two newspapers to get a complete picture of something. It was great of ST to chase up the number of fast car owners over the years in the light of the Ferrari crash. No wonder you see so many Porsches on the road these days…if you have money, don’t buy one. Too common leh. Good too to know a bit more about the number of speeding tickets given out. It was informative. Then you turn to TNP, and the issue isn’t just fast cars, but foreign drivers. Should foreign drivers be re-tested? I wish there was a bit more on the acceptability of a foreign driving licence. Don’t you need to get an international one? TNP and MYP also tackled this question of whether they should be re-tested and Public Transport Council’s Gerard Ee thought not. I wonder if other cities in the world do such a thing. I mean, a Singaporean on a driving holiday abroad probably wouldn’t want to have to take a test first right? We should be careful about what we wish for.
