Pink water at Sentosa Cove caused by heavy rainfall

Anyone reading this headline will think rain causes water to turn pink. It should be presence of this particular algae which thrives under heavy rainfall. Cos if don’t have this algae (and where else is it present?) water doesn’t turn pink.
